Write the SOP
Turn a process you carry in your head into something delegable.
Updated Jul 26, 2026
Turn this into a documented procedure: describe the process as you'd explain it to a colleague, messily is fine. It's done how often by role. It goes wrong when known failure.
Produce: the purpose in one line, when it's triggered, what's needed before starting, numbered steps in the exact order, the decision points and what to do at each, how to tell it worked, and what to do when it doesn't.
Flag any step where I've assumed knowledge a new person wouldn't have. Ask me about anything genuinely ambiguous rather than inventing it.
